General description: Nebion AG is a spin-off company from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH). It was founded in 2008 and has 15 employees, of which 10 have a PhD degree. Nebion is a leader in curating and integrating gene expression data on a very large scale and in the discovery and pre-validation of biomarkers. It is also active in other areas such as plant biology and nutrition.


Expertise: Nebion was founded by several members of a multi-disciplinary academic project dealing with gene regulatory network inference. It has experience with data curation, ontology development, software development, biostatistics, and bioinformatics. Nebion is currently an active participant in several running biomarker discovery projects and has gained considerable expertise in the area of cardiovascular diseases. Its genomic platform, called Genevestigator, contains one of the world’s largest manually curated and globally normalized database of gene expression.
